Description

A lovely super rare find! This is a circa 1950 novelty print cotton summer house dress by Patolaine Melbourne. It still has the original shop tag and is unworn, crisp & bright.

This was a budget label back in the day & would have been a lady’s everyday chuck it on house dress to do the chores. It is a lovely piece of Australian fashion history that’s been retained in all its glory. (Background info supplied by Tom McEvoy.)

The dress has a super cute boat collar with ric-rac edges & retains its original belt. It has a button up side, so there are no old zips to worry about replacing down the track!

It will best fit a modern Australian size 8. It has one tiny faint stain, but apart from that it is immaculate. Best worn making Vegemite sandwiches for the kids for school lunch before getting stuck into wash day & tackling the old mangle before hitting the corner store for a fresh loaf of white bread. Team with a vintage basket & espadrilles.
